Gibbston Valley is a renowned winery and destination just outside Queenstown, set within the rugged Central Otago landscape. The Gibbston Valley Resort extends that experience through a range of land and land-and-home opportunities, creating a residential resort environment that responds to the dramatic setting and established character of the wider valley.
DCM Urban has been responsible for the landscape architecture of the development, working across the extensive site to shape a cohesive landscape framework for the resort. As part of this ongoing project, DCM has prepared a comprehensive masterplan for the wider Gibbston Valley area, with the landscape approach focused on working with the existing landform, views and distinctive Central Otago character.
DCM has also developed an extensive visual package for the project, including plans, hand drawings and rendered illustrations. Together, these materials explore the different parts of the development and help communicate the overall vision, character and experience of the resort as it continues to evolve.
