Te Kōrure is a new residential development in Kirwee, Selwyn, comprising 237 sections delivered across eight stages. Located alongside an established neighbourhood, the development is designed to extend the existing settlement in a way that feels connected to the wider Kirwee community while providing the space and lifestyle associated with its semi-rural setting.
DCM has been involved across the urban design and landscape components of the project, including the urban design assessment, masterplan and subdivision design, streetscape design, playground and recreation area design, and wider landscape design. The approach has focused on creating a clear and connected neighbourhood structure, integrating open space and recreation into the development, and establishing a landscape character that responds to Kirwee’s existing setting.
The resulting masterplan brings together residential development, streets, recreation spaces and landscape into a cohesive framework that supports a strong sense of place and connection to the surrounding community. Te Kōrure offers a new residential neighbourhood within easy reach of Darfield, Rolleston and Ōtautahi Christchurch, while retaining the more spacious character that defines Kirwee.
